Update
First, yes I'm still alive. ;=3
For those that were wondering, I had a great time at ACen and AnthroCon.
Shout outs to all those that I met.
Teri, now known as Altaica (yes, that Altaica :=3 ), had a great time at AC. We even got her a tail, a Gneech badge and a SJ buttong that reads "Tigers don't do lawsuits." ;=3
Speaking of Altaica, I have been playing around with Poser 6's strand based hair for her. While not quite perfect, it is a pain to select the polygons you want on a non-human figure, it came out close to my first skecthes of her.
Here are two Altaica's side by side. The left one is using the standard Poser 3-6 hair; while the one on the right is using the strand based hair:

BTW, you will note that she now has a fur texture. This was done by using the material map as a bump map and setting the bump height to about 1/2 inch.
As I get more practice with the "Hair Room" her hair will get even closer to how I "see" it.
Here are the first sketches I had done of Altaica: front and side.

Yes, I know the Gi is fastend the wrong way round. I didn't know, at the time, that there was a "handedness" to how you fastened Gis. As shown it would mean she was deceased, which she clearly is not. :=3
Also, I know that her snout/muzzle is too long in the side view. I'm not that much of a pencil artist, ok. :=3
Now you know why I tend to stick to 3D CGI for my artwork.
And before someone says something about me posting during a work day, I haven't got net access at work, yet. I didn't feel good this morning, so I took the day off. :=/
