What Type of Dirty Tribreed Are You? by klandagi

Okay, this is really interesting.

A porcupine is not anything like a cat, but it, or a close relative, can be found in Africa.

While the civet is a catlike mammal found in Africa and Asia and of course the serval is a cat found in Africa. :=3

Hmmm. it might as well said, "Part lion, part leopard, and part honey badger." for all the Africian species it picked. ;=3

BTW, I'm not anoyed at the meme, but at something else that I saw on-line in forum I frequent as a lurker. ;=/

While I'm not going to mention any names, those involved probably can guess who they are. I'm sorry if this hurts your feelings, but it is what I'm feeling and no ill will is felt toward anyone, by me.

The reason I'm annoyed is because of a post in a certain forum I no longer post in, yet I still read faithfully.

When I made my post saying I probably might return, I had a feeling that it would be a couple of months or so. That mark passed on Sept. 30/Oct. 1st.

Well, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon, and I've let the person whose forum it is know in e-mail.

Why? Because of one post that annoyed me pretty bad. I'm a very tolerant person/lion, but I do have my limits.

The person who "runs" the forum has a web comic that is fairly popular. Today he introduced a new character. No backstory, this character just appears and starts to interact with one of the "regular" cast members. Ok, no problem there. Great strip.

Now on to the forum. There is a thread that welcomes the new character and wonders where it will lead. The second post is from one of the forum regulars being his normally silly self. No probs so far.

Then the third post. This is the one that really got my tail in a knot. ;={

Here the forum regular starts off innocently, but then starts guessing, fooling around or not (it doesn't matter), about the new character's sexual orientation. :={

That is one of the reasons I left!

There was an ongoing second guessing of another regular cast member's sexual orientation and it basically took over the forum. Here the new character hasn't been around for a full day, and we already have guessing?

Excuse me, but let the author of the comic steer the development of the characters. It's like saying that because this character replaced one that went on to other things, that this one has to be the same way as the first.

That is not a logical argument. The readers have not been exposed to the new character for a day, so there is no way to know which way that character "leans".

As I said, let the author direct the characters.

It is one thing to try to guess where an established story arc is headed, but to second guess everything the author does is just plain rude.

I'm afraid that this post, the one in the forum, will start a new wave of second guessing all of the characters "true" leanings.

So, in short, don't look for this lion in that forum anytime soon.

I'm sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings, but I had to get this off my chest. I will not stop, nor want anyone to stop ,anyone's posting, on any subject, but I ask to think through what you are going to post. Some people may have had more than enough on one particular subject.

BTW, comments have been disallowed to stop even the hint of a flame war.
