"Christmas in Killarney " by Anne Murray (1981).
There is no way to listen to that song and be depressed. :=3

The best gift I ever received was the news that my brother was coming home from the eye hospital. This was on Christmas Eve.
My mother answered the phone and got the news. I was out the door and headed to the hospital before she finished asking the question if I would pick him up.

Depends on what you mean by a "wad". Anything up to about $20 I'd thank the Lord above and keep it. From that point to about $100, it would depend on my mood. If I found it near a retail establishment I would go there and tell the manager and let him handle it, figuring that the person who lost the money would probably try to retrace their steps. Anything above that and I would then hand the money directly over to the police without hesitation.
Would I hope no one steps up to claim it? I'd be lying if I said no.

One of my biggest regrets is not going on the 30 day American Rail Pass back when I graduated H.S. in '76. That's 1976 not 1876 you smart @$$es. :=3
I learned to go for the gusto, but in hindsight I probably wouldn't have appreciated it as much as I do now. True, there are routes we, Amtrak, no longer have that we did back in '76, but would a 19 year old kid have as much freedom and get the privileges as I do now as an employee of Amtrak and being 50+ years old? I have to think not.
Yes, there are a lot of railroads and equipment that are no longer around, but the freedom I have with my I.D. and pass makes up for it.
