Why am I here...
Sep. 1st, 2006 08:30 amat work?
Probably nothing will happen (crosses fingers, toes, arms, legs, eyes :=3 ).
Nobody is around, as they took today off, or they will leave early.
To top it off when I was coming down the back stairs at the house this morning, from the second floor to the kitchen, I slipped and bounced down three or four steps, jamming my right middle finger and giving myself a nasty skin burn on my right elbow. :=/
Luckily I was holding on to the handrail, with my right hand, when I slipped. Otherwise I probably would've had the day off and a trip to the hospital.
The rear steps are fairly steep, as they are the orginal steps for the house, built in 1940 or so, and are carpeted. I was wearing only socks, had my laptop bag on my right shoulder and was carrying a mug of coffee in my left hand. My right foot just slipped off the step and I "bounced" down those steps before I was able to tighten my grip and stop myself from going any further.
Teri heard me "whoop" with surprise and bouncing down. When I came around the corner she had a paper to her mouth and was white as a ghost. I'm sure she thought she would have had to call an ambulance for me.
As it was I shrugged it off, gave Teri a kiss, made a note not to just wear only socks on those stairs and continued with what I was saying, before I slipped.
And the coffee? Only spilled a few drops. Actually, I was more worried about burning myself than breaking something. My thoughts, when I was slipping, was not how I was going to stop, but about the hot mug of coffee I was holding that was starting to splash about.
I'm a bit sore, but otherwise ok.
