Depends on what you mean by a "wad". Anything up to about $20 I'd thank the Lord above and keep it. From that point to about $100, it would depend on my mood. If I found it near a retail establishment I would go there and tell the manager and let him handle it, figuring that the person who lost the money would probably try to retrace their steps. Anything above that and I would then hand the money directly over to the police without hesitation.
Would I hope no one steps up to claim it? I'd be lying if I said no.
