Since Sunday I have been fighting a viral infection in my lungs. Monday I went to work, stayed about 45 minutes and called it quits.

Late Monday night I headed over to the E-R, and anybody who really knows me knows this is a very rare happening for me. I've been an EMT, security guard at hospitals and my mom was a RN, BSN, so I know E-Rs are not for a minor cough, especially when one has a family MD and insurance. I tend to let my system fight off what ever is ailing me, and I normally recover in a day or two.

I explained my symptoms: Coughing/hacking, shivers, chills, dizzier than normal (yes, I said that), headache and sweating.

They looked me over, and other than an elevated BP, which they really didn't mention other than in passing, they could find nothing wrong. Lungs were/are clear, no elevated temperature, nada. So the doctor concluded that it is probably a viral illness that will work its way out of my system in a week or so. Fun. I < heavy sarcasm >love< /heavy sarcasm > feeling that I'm ready to hack up a lung at any time and my head is ready to explode.

I took Tuesday and Wednesday off, and should have taken today off, but I was told I was needed to do a job, so here I am coughing and hacking at work.

Funny thing is, even though I was feeling like I wanted to die, I was my usual crazy lion self making jokes with the nurses and doctor. Even a bad illness can't keep me from trying to make people smile/laugh. :=3

Addendum: One way to tell that you are really sick is when you try to think of pleasant dreams to help you fall to sleep and they end up morphing into Gene Catlow scenes. :=/
Now, I enjoy Gene Catlow, and I'm sure Albert Temple might find Gene Catlow scenes pleasant, they just do not work for me. :=/

Now, if the scenes morphed toward Tiffany Tiger .... :=3
