More on my H-O scale euipment
May. 16th, 2013 09:01 amSome more stats on the equipment list.
I have equipment from 49 different manufacturers. Of these, 18 manufacturers have only one piece in my collection.
The manufacturer that is most represented is Walthers with 184 pieces. The manufacturer with the most passenger pieces is once again Walthers, with 132 units. Athearn leads the pack in the loco category with 39 pieces, which includes 4 Genesis series. Tyco very narrowly beats out Athearn in freight cars: 60 versus 57.
Some notable manufacturers I have are Lionel H-O, American Flyer H-O, Revell, Varney, Silver Streak (before Walthers bought them out) and 5 pieces of unknown make. Yes, while it is not very well known, Lionel and American Flyer did make H-O scale equipment.
If I had bought equal amounts of equipment from each manufacturer I would have bought ~16.6 pieces from each. To get at an even 17 pieces on average I would need to own 833 pieces total.
Hmmm, I do need more freight equipment. Hello, Walthers. :=3
Also a quick note to those that may say I should sell some of it and make money. Only a very few pieces would be considered "collector's items", some of which have lost their original boxes long ago, and most is not in mint or factory fresh condition. My collection has more value to a club, or two, than on the open market.
