Not an April fool's joke, but ...
Apr. 1st, 2014 08:35 amI no longer own my blue 2000 Dodge Neon.
Yesterday, after work I went to a local Chevy dealer, enticed by one of their come-on give aways. I normally do not partake of such things, but something said to do so.
I walked out with a 2007 GMC Canyon pickup.
This was a shock, since I know my credit score is pretty horrible. The Neon I bought back in Dec. of 2009 from
mooncat and it had ~32,000 miles. When I traded it in it had just under 114,000 miles. It was a nice little car and served me well, but I have the feeling it was running on borrowed time, and it was time for me to trade it in.
The Canyon has ~81,000 miles, which is not a lot for a pickup, and is pretty feature packed, including a crew cab and 4WD. At least I won't get stuck in my driveway if there is more than 3" of snow. :=3
Edit: After checking on-line I find that the 4x4 comes with a 4 speed automatic with an in-line 3.7L 5 cylinder engine. :=0
The reviews were favorable, but not glowing. They panned the fact that it only had a 4000 lb towing capacity, which is more than enough for me.
EPA ratings are 15/20mpg with a 19 gallon tank, so I should be able to do a week's worth of commuting on one tank; but I end up doing other errands, so I may not be able to get by with one fill-up per week.
So, the next time you see me I won't be in a faded blue Dodge Neon, but a nice silver-gray GMC Canyon. ;=3
Pictures forthcoming.
Hopefully this is a sign that my fortunes are getting better. :=3
