In reference to this post, http://lowen-kind.livejournal.com/374805.html , I set up a side by side comparison of my dad's B&O Royal Blue and my full 20 car SP Coast Daylight.

What a difference 56 years make. Circa 1957 the Revell engine and the Mantua cars were about the most state of the art in ready to run, short of brass. Now, the Broadway Limited Imports' engine and cars are state of the art and probably are more detailed than some brass, especially from the late 1950s. In fact there are/were passenger car kits and ready to run cars (Rapido from Canada) that have every underframe detail that the real ones have/had.
My dad's engines really do need some work, especially the A unit, but it gives you an idea of what my dad's passenger train looked like.
