Is there a direct public transit link between Penn Station and the Baltimore Convention Center?
I'm thinking of attending Baltimore Comic Con and taking my employer to it. ;=3

The Light Rail will get you from Penn Station to the Convention Center.

http://mta.maryland.gov/services/lightrail/schedule/ gets you a schedule and all that stuff.

The Light Rail is a direct link that stops right outside the BCC. At Baltimore Penn when you exit the train and step up into the station proper, hang a right at the Info desk. You'll see the stairs for the Light Rail. The ticket machines for it are under the stairs.

If you go straight out the main doors, though, hang a left on to St. Paul Street. You'll be able to pick a bus, but all will require some walking. The 3 local will be closest near the end of it's run (it turns to go north bound just south of Pratt street). The 3 Express also will get there, but it costs more. The 61 and 64 will drop you off close if you get off at Pratt Street, about 2 blocks difference.

All of the above will cost you $1.60 one way, but you can get a day pass for $3.50 on the buses or the ticket machine. The passes on the ticket machine for single/round trip do not work on the buses; only the day passes do.

There is also a free bus that came online this year, the Charm City Circulator, but it takes the same route as the 61 and 64. I would urge the Light Rail for simplicity.

On the way back to Penn Station, look for the LR car that says "PENN STATION" alternating with "SHUTTLE" on the front. This goes into Penn Station. Do not get one marked "CROMWELL," "BWI/BWI AIRPORT," "HUNT VALLEY," or "TIMONIUM/TIMONIUM FAIRGROUNDS." They won't go into Penn Station (infact, the BWI one will go to the airport and you'll have to take a free Airport shuttle to get to the Amtrak station).

I forget if you are still with Amtrak or not. I will say that even though Amtrak personnel can ride MARC for free (especially during the track tie replacement project), they cannot ride Maryland Transit Administration buses nor Light Rail for free. I do not know why that is.

So, please buy a daypass and use Light Rail. More info on MTA's webpage.
