Well, I heard from the game publisher. Not good news. :={

Here is the e-mail:
Don,
Thanks for taking the time to send me the completed rules for AIR
TRAFFIC. I took the time to read through the rules, and have come to the
conclusion that it is not a good fit for us at this time. Although the
theme is certainly clear and original, I believe the game play could use
more player interaction and a touch more strategy. I understand this is
not supposed to be a deep strategy game, but right now, I don't think
the games offers enough engaging opportunities.

Well, that's that for them. I feel that if they had gotten a deck and played a few hands their thouhgts might have been different.

So the question is, does anyone know someone in the gaming industry who has the power to procure new games?

I know that [livejournal.com profile] jbadger knows someone, but does anyone else, as I can see this as a good selling game with out that much to produce it. I figure with the $$$'s to pay me for the rights and the original cost of production and distrubution the company would outlay possibly about $30K. With the company getting about $4 a pack from retailers (figure MSRP @$10/pack, with dealers paying $6/ pack and $2 of that going to me) they would recoup the those costs, and more, with the first 30,000 packs. That would not be hard to do figuring 3,000 retail outlets and a dealer "pack" of 10 games.

Of course I realize I may be off in my production costs, but I don't think it would be by much. Of course if the company goes to spend mucho $$$$'s on advertising, then the time to recover initial outlay would be longer.

Oh well, enough rambling. Time for me to get ready for work.
