Planetary Defense gun
by ~LionkingCMSL on deviantART

To defend the planet an agency has expanded an island and placed a planetary defense gun and associated power plant.

Camstone, is this your work? :=3

They placed it on an island in case something went wrong no populated areas would be in danger.

Hmm, something I've been thinking off lately on this. It would seem that technology being released is being done on a very strict schedule as such only those in the top ranking positions will decide on what has been developed military wise for it to become available to the general public.

As such I have no doubt that the following technology has already been done:

1. LCD panels that can display more than 1080 lines.
2. That there is two to three generations upgrade to bluray optical discs.
3. Quantum CPU's are already in use, using quantum crypto encryption.
4. Transmissions in the terahertz is being used with possible possibility of working out the quirks in faster than light radio waves. (Possibly using tachyons.)

Note I have not had any information given to me by any such persons and that I have no idea what is being tested or not by American secret companies or if they even exist. Just that a bit of common knowledge of looking at how things are suggests that possible research is being made on said above technologies.

Simple explanation... Human race is so predictable. XD

Hmm. There's nothing in there to give us a sense of scale. What size are we talking about on that gun?

Each one of the gun bases' sides is 1 mile long. So the gun support area covers 1 square mile.

The power plant's base is ~.66667 mile per side, so the total area covered is just under 1 1/2 square miles or 980 acres.
