for it might bite you in the butt if you wait. :=/

Take this lion for example.

Like my phenotype I tend to get "laize-fair" at times. If I think the project can wait I put it off.

This had unfortunate results for me last night.

My kitchen faucet had developed a leak in the spout about 3 years back. I told my landlord and he handed me a new faucet complete with sprayer. I don't mind doing minor repairs here as I pretty handy with tools (heck, I'm the Chief Mechanical Officer at the RR :=3 ). Well I looked at the faucet and thought, "Well I need to drill a hole for the sprayer, as there is no hole for one in the sink. Fun. The sink is stainless steel. I'll need a Greenlee (type of hole punch for large holes) for it."

Well, I measured the size needed and then acquired the proper size Greenlee. I then realized that I needed a tungsten bit for drilling the pilot hole. Meanwhile I had patched the leaks, which were caused by the hard water from my well, with silicon and called the project fixed temporally until I got the proper drill.

Fast forward about 3 years to now. I had looked at the faucet numerous times and thought, "You know I should really change that faucet. Ah, well, when I get time."

So it went. Then one day I noticed that the hot water wasn't shutting off all the way. There was a constant trickle. Again, "I should change the faucet." But I kept putting it off because my tools were down at the RR.

Well last night I got the wake up call. I went under the sink to get a pot and found that I had a flood! What I didn't realize was not only had the seal for the hot water corroded, but the entire lower half of the faucet housing had corrode through and had a small hole.

Well, last night I had to remove everything from under the sink and bail some water. I also took the old faucet out and temporally set the new faucet in place.

I have since installed, permanently, the new faucet and sprayer.

Funny thing is I had always lamented that my sink didn't have a sprayer when I was doing the dishes.

Now I have a soaked counter base, mildewed cabinet walls and the doors to the cabinet are buckled and the plys are starting to separate. :=/

I learned my lesson. That is one job that will never be put off again.
