About what has happened on 9/11/01

lionkingcmslYou know what probably irks those that seek to destroy the U.S.?
It is that after two years we remember what has happened, but yet we go on with our lives. On the whole 9/11 did not effect people to the point that we were quailed into hiding and pleading for them to take pity on us. Actually, we said, in effect, "You want war? Fine! You got it, as we just declared war on terrorism!"
That is not what they wanted.

Well, that, and we didn't turn into frothing them-haters, either. Our hopes and dreams are still our hopes and dreams -- we don't obsess on them anywhere near as much as they obsess about us.
So, I feel that the best way to honor those that died on 9/11/2001 is to go on living the way we have been. Do not allow those events, or any actions from those that would like to see the U. S. falter, effect our lives in a major way. Our remembrances, prayers, and thoughts for those that have perhished or have their lives changed in a traumatic way are to be expected and are a way for those that were left behind to heal. But do not let those actions against us dictate to us what we shall do.
The U. S. "belongs" to its citizens, not to those that would like to see it wiped off the face of the planet or changed in any dramatic way. It is through the actions of its citizens, and duly elected officials, that the U. S.'s destiny will be determined.
To those that would like to see the U. S. become whatever, I say, Don't hold your breath! The U. S. was founded and thrives on tolerance. We will not become a nation of just one religion, one ethnic group, nor any other "single" thing. We are many different things, but the one thing we agree on is that we decide on the future of the U. S., not you.
To them I also say:
I was BORN FREE;
I do LIVE FREE;
I WILL STAY FREE!
