And of course, most of them are RR related, what else. ;=3

1. Hand cranked a 400-ton swing bridge at night, by myself, to get off it. (Not a fun thing to do, and it will not happen again.)

2. Blind backed (no one guiding me) a 2-car passenger train (empty) 4 miles at night, and stopped it precisely where I wanted, with no help. There were no grade crossings, and the area is inaccessible.

3. Was on the lead end of a 36 car Ringling Bros. And Barnum Bailey circus train while it was backed ~1 mile at night, in the rain. In other words, I was on the end farthest from the locomotives.

4. Been on the first locomotive into Cape May City, NJ in over 15 years.

5. Hit a van with a train. No one was killed. Hitting a vehicle is not a good feeling for the engineer.

6. In one day have been conductor, bridge operator and engineer. Bridge operator and conductor for the same train at the same time. Anyone who knows the CMSL knows that is a feat, and it was done safely. ;=3

7. Have installed 2-way radio equipment in a tollbooth on a busy highway (Atlantic City Expressway).

8. Been in the bridge control cabin of the Tacony-Palymra Bridge.

9. Removed a drive shaft from a Budd RDC in less than 5 minutes, to keep the train on schedule. If you know how heavy those are, and how big the bolts are, you know that’s pretty darn quick. ;=3

10. Have let a certain chairman from a certain large furry con ride in the engineer’s seat of a Budd car while it was in motion, much to his delight. :=3
Yes, I still had control of the Budd car.
