Yesterday I sent my resume to Amtrak, with no revisions (it was perfect :=3 ), and it is up to them now.

However, I talked to my friend and he asid it could be a month or more before I hear anything, though he thinks it will be less, because there is an immediate need to fill the vacant position.

So, as of now, it is a waiting game. I hope I am hired before too long, as I would like to have a few sheckles in my pocket, and possible free transportation, when I go to MFF.

I'll let everyone know if anything comes up or otherwise changes.

Don't mean to rain on your parade, but since you work for a shortline, and pay can be erratic, I'll butt in. Most other roads pay on the 13th, and 28th of the month. If they hired you between the 16th, and the 31st, you would get something on November 13th. And in time for MFF. Hiring on in November's first half, (1st through the 15th) that pay would show up on the 28th of November. In effect, your pay is "held back" for two weeks, a concept I cringe at when explaining it to a new hire. They look at it as a security deposit, that you don't get until you leave the services of the company. Not true, as it is merely in the pipeline of all the departments that must handle it to cut you a check. Acually that two weeks can get tight if you throw in a bunch of holidays, such as Thanksgiving, and Christmas, is really a busy time of year due to the man hours not there for processing. So there you go.
I've said it before, I'll say it again, Good Luck.

That's what I meant by "too long". I figured it could be bi-weekly pay.

We'll see what happens though.

Here's Hoping~

I know I'm responding to this late but I can honestly say that I wish you luck in getting the position.

Mainly because I understand you trying to get out to MFF, I'm doing it as well. ^ ^;
