I'm all, but in fact hired. ;=3

My day didn't start out too good though.

I awakened at about 5:30a and thought I'd sleep just a bit more. Unfortunately when I next looked at the clock it wsa 6:45a. This bad because I wanted to catch the 7:16 out of Hammonton and it takes me a half hour to get there. 8=0
So after a quick shave, dress, grab everything, and feed the cat, I bolt out the door and start heading to Hammonton hoping that I can make it and not get caught hurrying. I arrived at Hammonton and purchase my ticket, from the vending machine, about 1 minute before the train stops! Whew! That's what I call cutting it close. 8=0

Trip to Philly waas uneventful, but I was lacking my morning caffeine; i.e. coffee.

After grabbing a cup of java at 30th I call the guy who wants to see me. He said to meet him in the main concourse. I wait for him and he shows up with my friend.

What was saidnext surprised me. My friend said, "You're freaking me out wearing a suit and tie." And the guy who is interviewing me said, "Why the suit and tie? You're over dressed." :=3
My response was, "Well, I'm not hired yet."
He nodded and we headed back to the food court so they could get coffee. He motioned for me to sit at a table so we could talk. The three of us discussed some of the things I would be doing.

After we had finished our coffee we headed back to their office. Along the way the comment was made to me, "You're making us look bad."
I replied, "Well, if it makes you feel any better, here." I pulled out my baseball cap that I had tucked in my belt, under my suit coat, and put it on.
They looked at me, laughed, and said, "Yep. He's a true railroader."

WE went to their cubicals and I started to fill out the application. The head of "Radio Engineering" stopped by and I was introduced as "the new guy in New York". The HoRE said, "That's right, Sunnyside. No. Penn Station."

So that was the second clue that I'm all but techincally hired.

After I filled out the paperwork, the guy who is doing the hiring said, "I'll get this down to HR and they will be in contact with you. With any luck you'll be hired before Christmas and you'll get holiday pay." :=3

They even wanted to take my picture for my ID badge, but the digital camera they use didn't have any charge in its battery and there was no charger to be found. :=/

So, now it's up to HR, but I know that my application is being hand fed through the HR department. ;=3

And, to top the day off, I caught the same train back from Philly that I did 2 Wedensdays ago, with the same crew, so another free cab ride. ;=3

Can you say one really happy lion? I can. :=3

This is such good news! Will keep all good thoughts flowing so that HR can process everything and give you one of the best gifts before Christmas!

Let's hope HR gets the clue and says "You're hired. Report here."

They didn't want to take your employee photo with a suit and tie anyway.
I'll say it again, I'm very happy for you.

All sounds like stuff to be cautiously optimistic over...
