For those artistic/design types
Dec. 6th, 2005 07:29 amI have a question:
Which do you like better for this kitchen "color" scheme?

or

(Click on images for larger versions.)
Notes on kitchens/renders.
Both are the same kitchen, of my a-frame house.
The first kitchen was rendered with the camera's FoV (Field of View) set at 90deg., while the second's FoV was the default 60deg.
The second render's back-splash should be more beige than "peach", but "peach" works as well.
The second's counter top should be the same "sandstone" color as the edging, but the glare makes it look white, though white/off white/egg-shell white would also look good.
The counter top is the same color in both kitchens, "sandstone".
The door/drawer hardware would be brass for the first scheme and chrome for the second.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Have the best

Date: 2005-12-06 10:31 pm (UTC)Of the two I prefer the top one. The bottom looks too sterile to me, and while that may serve some, It's not my preference. At least not for a home. For a restaurant, perhaps, it would do nicely.

Date: 2005-12-06 04:31 pm (UTC)I think either one would be improved by a light beige countertop. Or, for the second, you could just make the walls white. See, if your hues don't match, a beigey off-white and a sandy off-white next to each other will look like pink & yellow no matter how subtle they are.

Date: 2005-12-06 06:31 pm (UTC)The top one definitely has a comfortable, almost cozy, feel to it, while the bottom one has an open, airy sense about it. It all depends on what you're planning on using it for as to which one would be best. Mainly if your dining area is in the kitchen or another room, and if you're going to have guests in the kitchen or not.
That's just my thoughts on them.
