CMFM '06 cancelled, ...

but will return in 2007.

As reported by the Gneech, CMFM 2006 has been cancelled.

It was a hard decision, but I think the right one.

There were a few factors entering into the decision, not the least of which was me moving and my new job, which sort of put the CMFM on the back burner and I couldn't give it my full attention. Secondly was the fact that AnthroCon is very early this year, just 3 weeks later in early June. the final reason, and the deciding one was that we wouldn't be able to get into Cape May by train, again, this year. It was hoped that we could do so, but the bridge won't be ready in time.

So while CMFM '06 won't happen CMFM '07 will. Towards that end I am looking for furs that can help me make CMFM a much better meet. If anyone wants to help, please let me know.

I'll be looking for people for contacting different hotels, planners, etc., so any and all help would be appreciated.

*hugs* I still have never been on a moving train. An entire con built around them sounds interesting now that I have a job that might give me a travel-able wage.

Skipping a year

Much larger cons have taken a year off to regroup...taking this year off is not a defeat....just wise planning...

Having to cancel an event is always tough... but look at it this way... You've got your priorities in the right order -- get RL stuff settled and in place, so you have the resources to plan fun stuff. AC will be back to July next year. And the bridge will be presumably finished next year, so it'll be even better.

(I was thinking about finally going this year; I've heard so many good things about your 'meet and I suppose I'm a bit of a mild rail fan as well. But if I have to wait 'till next year... well, that'll give me an incentive to hang around for another year or so. ;o)
