Doo-Dah Parade

Last Saturday was the annual Ocean City Doo-Dah parade.
The weather was much nicer than last year (rain then).
teriv and I headed down in the morning to meet up with everyone. We met up with
smrgol_t_kirin and
jbadger at their motel.
At the appointed time we suited up and headed to the marshalling area. This year we had a nice surprise waiting for us, we were third in line. ;=3
This meant we didn't have to wait in the heat waiting for our turn to march. Also we didn't have to keep stopping and starting as the parade would bunch up.
I stayed to the right side of the street and greeted people. The comment I heard most was "Wow! Great costume!" I also got some double takes. Teri said she heard the same thing from the other side of the street, even though I didn't go over there. ;=3
Foxwell told me later that he couldn't follow me, as people would say, "look a lion and a tiger!" Mistaking his bright orange suit for a tiger.
The mask held up well, though it did start to get hot at the end. The only major annoyance was the back strap was digging in to the base of my skull. I plan to pad it to end that problem, though I normally won't be wearing it for a two mile walk and two hours at a time. :=/
When we got to the end of the parade the headless lounge couldn't come fast enough! There was a funny moment when I was stopped by the Lyon(?) family and wanted to take their picture with me. ;=3
There was apparently a little girl that was running to try to catch up to me. Fortunately Teri was my "handler" and told me to look down and say hello.
I took part in the "piefasco", although as a "creamer" and not a "creamee". I did get a bit of shaving cream on the suit and paws and a bit on the muzzle of the mask. The muzzle was own fault as I moved the pie too close to myself and bumped the muzzle. Fortunately it wiped off very easily with no ill effects.
Also this post allows me to show off my new "fur suiting" icon. The toy mouse is one of Maggie's. ;=3
