Pinging Shockwave. ;=3
Dec. 19th, 2007 06:32 pmThanks for the card and insert. however I started building the lighting before I got it. Slow couple of days at work. :=3
For those that are wondering, I had bought a "Diesel House" from Walthers. It is the place where inspections and light repairs are normally done.
I decided to spice it up some and add some lighting so the crews could "work" at night. I then bought some surface mount yellow LEDs to simulate those high pressure sodium lights.
Here are the results. Note that the platforms are upside down.
Full platforms with LEDs lit:

Close up of one LED:

Here is the size of the LEDs I'm working with :=3 :

The wiring and LEDs are held on with low temp hot glue. After the platforms are mounted in the building the wiring should mostly be hidden. :=3
The lights in the middle of the platforms are to illuminate the work area under the platforms. I have finished one of the smaller platforms since the photos were taken.
I need to order more of the same LEDs to finish the entire building. I plan to put some on the track support posts and some on the sides of the building as security lights. I also need to find pale blue LEDs, to simulate mercury vapor lamps, to hang from the overhead trusses. :=3
BTW, the workbench pictured is my work area at work. ;=3
