Matchless in Malaga?
Jul. 24th, 2002 03:04 pmWell, it sure seems that way.
Back on the 22nd I "joined" eharmony. It's a matching service for people who want to meet people. I was honest and filled out their questionnaire, not a small task. It takes a while to go through the questions, but in the end the profile they generate of you is very accurate as well as the type of mate you are seeking.
I was surprised of the accuracy. About the only thing that the summary didn't say that I was looking for in a mate, was she must be a fur, or at least put up with one. Then again that question is not on any of the pages. ;=3
They also ask about how far would you be willing to travel, or the range you would consider to meet some one. I put 120 miles. That is pretty fair as it takes in from D.C. to N.Y.C. and probably out past Harrisburg, PA.
Well the problem is that the program might be a tad too "picky" in selecting a prospective person for me to meet. I have had on single "match". :={
This could be for a few reasons. There may have not been that many women in the area that know about this service, and so have not signed up. The women that would be a good match for me are outside my "area" of choice. The next larger radius is 300 miles, but I think that is a tad to big. Finally, the reason that I may not have gotten a match, and the one I'm "betting" on, is that I'm too damned unique. There may not be anyone out there for this ol' lion. :={
I had always said that there are certain people that are destined to go through life alone, and I may be one, but I'm nearing 45 and I would like to have some companionship with the opposite sex, before I get too old.
I'm not giving up, but it would've been nice to seen just one match in two days. :=/
Well, I guess time will tell.

It seems to me that broadening the areas of acceptabilty may be useful -- it is surprising how many differences can be quite acceptable in a good relationship. I know of one mating of an atheist with a Catholic -- it works very well indeed (*ahem*)! ;)
You are more likely to meet potential companions in other ways, but you should not give up on this one.
