Job openings
Apr. 14th, 2008 07:13 amWith the blessings of the ones higher up I'm posting this.
Do you have your General Radio Telephone Operator License? Do you have a valid driver's license? Are you drug free? Do you have experience in commercial 2-way radio (Motorola portables and GE-M/A Com base stations very helpful)? Do you live in the NYC or Washington D.C. areas, or could commute there?
If you can answer yes to the first three questions at least then Amtrak has a couple of positions open for you. One in NYC and one in Washington D. C.
The starting rate is $28.64/hr with a raise on 7/1/08 to ~$29.79/hr. Amtrak is a closed shop so you will have to join the IBEW. The benefits are pretty good, not the least is free transportation, on Amtrak and NJ Transit, in the Northeast and reduced fares, if not free, transportation on all other Amtrak trains.
The NYC job is actually in Sunnyside, Queens and the Wash. D.C. job is in Ivy City.
If you are interested let me know and I can forward you more info on the openings.
