Observation made at the Doo Dah Parade.
Apr. 28th, 2008 07:32 amWhen your foot is run over by one of those scooters, used by disabled people, it hurts like hell! 8=0
I was standing in line, in suit, to get some water when I bumped into something. I looked down and saw a woman in a scooter or motorized wheel chair. She apologized and I straightened up and shifted my stance, not really moving. What I didn't know is that she thought it was okay to go, without someone telling me to step back. The result was my left foot was run over by the left rear wheel, which, fortunately, was pnuematic.
As I was going "Ow! Ow! Ow! ...." and hopping she apologized once again. I also heard someone say, "They really can't see down with those masks on."
Now, I thank her for the apology, but someone from her group paying for my water would've went a long way to ease the hurt. The pain went away after about 5 minutes or so.
My foot is okay, as the foot paws are constructed with two layers of craft foam and I had moccasions inside the paws. That means my foot was well cushioned, and, as mentioned, the tire was pnuematic, which also helped.

Date: 2008-04-28 03:29 pm (UTC)I said the same thing to UT.
At best she would've slashed the offending tire and given the woman a piece of her mind. At worst, well, I think an ambulance would've been needed. :=/
