It seems that long time Phillies announcer Harry Kalas died suddenly today in Washington D.C., hours before a game with the Nationals. He had started with the Phillies back in 1971, when the team moved into the the new Veteran's Stadium.
Harry was well known for his signature, "That ball is outta here!" call.
He finally achieved his one last dream, last season, when he was able to call the World Series, against his son, who broadcasts for the Tampa Devil Rays, which, of course, the Phillies took in 5 games.

I'm not a big sports fan, but there are, or were, two voices that you immediately associate with Philadelphia sports: the late Harry Kalas with the Phillies, and Merril Reese, the voice of the Eagles.
So, the baseball season will no longer be the same in Philly. :={
