What to do

First of all, the article hasn't appeared yet. Sunday's paper normally shows up later in the afternoon, so I'll check the store later.

Last night I sliced my left middle finger open on the tomato slicer. Pretty deep cut, but I don't need stitches. Thing is it had "healed" but it has re-opened. Question is do I now call out and give it three days to heal (I have off Sun. & Mon.) or do I go in. I wouldn't be able to make sandwiches with the cut. I guess I'll go over to the store and talk to the manager and see what she says. I have until 4p to make my decision, as I have to let them know no less than 2 hours before my shift starts at 6p.
I don't want to leave the crew in a bind, but I want this thing to heal. I normally do the dishes at the end of the day and the cut is right near the tip of the finger.

What to do. What to do. :=/

On the subject of "Mickey D's", I wish that some of the crew would get a "clue". They think it's a big game. I didn't get out of the store until 2:04a and we closed at midnight. Granted we had a late rush, but still. One guy was more worried about what music was on rather than cleaning up. I guess that's what happens when you are the oldest on the crew. I have some of these "kids" beat by 25 years or more (I'm 44). Sorry for the rant, but I had to get that out. :=/

Well, I'm batting 0 for 2. :={

I checked the early version of the Sunday paper and no article. :={

I called the manager of the store to tell her I wouldn't be in. She asked why and I told her what happened. She then proceeded to tell me unless I had doctor's note I would be "suspended". I asked why. She then told me that I would be the fourth to call out today and effective at noon she started suspending people who called out without a doctor's note. She was tired of employees not wanting to work on the weekend.

She seemed to understand my problem, but she just couldn't spare anyone else. She also informed me that one crew member had been scheduled to close tonight (get out around 2a) and to open tomorrow (be at the store at 4:50a). Well, there is no way that is going to happen and they will need him tomorrow, so she had to call another employee in to cover. :=/

It wouldn't be so bad except that Mickey D's is running a couple promotions and the store is very busy. :=/

Oh, well. Tomorrow is another day and I have to work at the railroad doing track work.

Please, dear Lord, 3 inches of snow in lower Cape May County is all I ask. :=3
