In my previous post ...
Nov. 1st, 2004 03:42 pmI had mentioned that I had done some modeling of different objects for a house I designed.
Well, here are a couple of renders. :=3
The first is of a spiral staircase.

This is not the first set of stairs. The first was a 30 deg stairs going up counter(anti-) clockwise.
When I was doing some renderings, I realized that the stairs did not fit, in height, correctly. Well that sent me back to the drawing/modeling board.
I then came up with these 22.5 deg stairs. They initially went the same direction, but after seeing how they looked in relation to the first floor walls, I decided that a clockwise ascent was better. It was a simple matter of mirroring the stairs.
The pane of smoked glass that is hanging in mid air actually sits on the second floor, and protects the well.
Speaking of mirrors, here is a vanity light, that sits above the master bath mirror:

It only shows 5 lights of a 8 lamp, 48 inch light.
This is also a second attempt. The first one had only seven lights. I looked at it and said, "You know, I do believe that those 48 inchers have 8 lights."
Well, on Saturday I had some free time so I headed over to Home Depot, with a measuring tape in paw.
There I found an open box of a 48" light. I only pulled the light out far enough to measure the first couple of sockets. I also measured the "globe" style light bulb. The bulbs are not just seated on the "sockets", but are actually set back into them, as I modeled the "neck" and thread section of the bulb also.
I believe this render evokes the image one would see when looking through a lighting catalog. :=3
Both models were done in AutoCad2000 and were rendered in Bryce 4.
