Design more stairways! :=3

These stairs will be located on the rear of the a-frame between the first and second floors, with access to the ground.

I had only planned to have the second floor with a rear balcony, and no access down wards. After thinking about how difficult it can be to move furniture up spiral stairs, and the wasted deck space on the first floor, I came up with this design. I changed the windows in the two lower bedrooms to sliding glass doors to allow access to the rear deck.

Now I have to import this to the a-frame drawing, modify the upper railing assembly and put railings on the first floor.

Just a note to say that I don't believe that the actual deck/staircase assembly would look exactly as I've designed it, if it was ever built, but this does give one a good idea of how it would look in principal.

Now for being silly:

Here I put the spiral staircase, from before, even with the uppermost landing.

This shows the compactness of a spiral staircase versus the traditional stairway.

BTW, the reason the spiral stairs don't reach the ground is because the first floor is 4' off the ground.

Note that the floor to floor height is 11 feet, so the overall height from the second floor to ground is 15 feet.

Here is ...

a render of that a-frame:

This is not a render of the finalized house, as there have been some changes, that are not really visible, that have occured.

The biggest one would be the "installation" of 3 windows on the side of the large "box" on the right side of the house.

That box is the "stair enclosure" that houses the spiral staricase.

And, yes, the left front door is "open". ;=3

So you can see that I'm not just designing things in thin air, as it were. I'm doing them as part of a larger project. :=3

Anybody want a house? :=3
