Why just LJ?

I'm sure some of you wonder why I'm not on Facebook, My Space, Twitter, et al.

Part of it is that LJ was first. ;=3

Another thing is a bit of perceived privacy on my part. Not much privacy, but it is there. A lot of people know of the aforementioned services, but don't know of LJ. So, I am assured a small measure of privacy when people look for me, not that I have anything to hide.

There is also a lot of drama on those other sites, from what I hear, as was demonstrated this morning by a friend. The less drama in my life the better.

The main reason is that I have a hard enough time keeping up with LJ and I don't need any other distractions. Anyway, as those people who really know me know, I really can't put my thoughts into nice little "Tweets".

So, unless I am forced by outside conditions; like my job, don't look for me other than at LJ and the various fora I hang out on.

I like LJ because it's simple. No bells, no whistles, no flashy games and gaudy banner ads, just straightforward journaling.

I agree, of all the social-networking sites around, LJ and the few other sites I use have the least amount of time-wasting features.
(such as games)

I also prefer to keep each site I'm on (including DeviantArt and FurAffinity) close to their "normal" use.
(for instance, I post renderings as well as photographs on DA, while on FA I'm trying to keep my submissions fur-related. LJ is always for blog entries, and I even have an ImageShack account for .FLV animations, as they don't really fit anywhere else)

I have an ImageShack account for when I'm not at home and I want to upload images for use in the various fora and the LJ Scrapbook won't work that well.
