Where in blazes did you get that idea?
Aug. 19th, 2010 11:42 amApparently there is at least one, probably more, at work that think I'm rich. 8=0
Sorry, people, I'm not. If I was I wouldn't be sitting at a desk in the Sunnyside Yard Radio Shop wondering how to make ends meet.
A guy came into the shop yesterday saying he wanted to make a reservation in the hotel. When I told him I don't even own the land, he was shocked and said, "C'mon. You don't the land? Why not? You're rich."
I asked where he got the idea and he said, "Well, you know how things get around on the railroad."
He did not want to hear I didn't have the money or the hotel wasn't started yet. I told him that if the hotel was underway I wouldn't be here, as I would be in meetings and conferences most of the time to get the hotel right. His response was, "Well that's why you hire someone to do that."
My rebuke was, "Yes, if you are Conrad Hilton or someone like that. Being this is my design and idea I'm the one who is gotta be there."
It got rather heated with me coming close to losing my temper. Fortunately it was close to quitting time, so I made a run for it.
The only thing I can figure out is that they know that I am designing the hotel and want to build it, and they came to the conclusion that only rich people can have those dreams, so I must be rich. :=/
Sorry, no.
As those that work in the industry know, "There are no secrets on the railroad."
So, I can imagine half of Sunnyside Yard think I'm rich.

Not me
