This post is something I've been thinking about for a while.

As I have told a few people I feel that we are in the end times.

While I don't consider myself psychic, some people might think I'm psychotic, I can get "feelings" about what will happen. I'm not saying I could pick lottery numbers (if I could the hotel would be started) or who is going to win a ball game, but I do get generic feelings. Just ask [livejournal.com profile] skipai. One day he was sitting in my living room and I told him, "I see you back here in a year." He said he saw no way that was happening, but, guess what, he was back in a year.

Back during the Y2K scare I said, in 1998, "In 2005 we will be doing what we are doing now. This won't amount to much." Well, I was right.

People have asked what I see after 2012. My answer is, "Nothing! I do not get any impressions, good or bad. A total blank." Needless to say this is a bit disconcerting.

And after seeing what is happening in the world today I do have to wonder if the end is closer than we think. I don't want to be an alarmist, something I despise, but I want my thoughts made clear.

How do I feel about it? Ambivalent. While I hope it is not true, as I do want to build my hotel, I see no way that my actions will influence the out come one way or the other.

To quote Doris Day:
"Que sera, sera,
Whatever will be, will be."

Oh geez.

My friend, this is not the end times. And I can prove it in two ways. Way one is to ask you to name a single time in history where there were NOT earthquakes, volcanos, floods, wars, etc. You cannot, because there is no time in history without them. Thus this date is no different than all the other dates going back in recorded time.

Two is, if you follow the same book I do, the man himself says that we will not know the hour nor the day. Therefore anyone saying that they know when the end times is is, by divine definition, wrong.

I'm not saying I know the day or hour, and I follow the Good Book. All I'm saying is what I feel, nothing more.

The man upstairs has the final say, of course, but what I feel is what I feel. :=/

btw: I catch glimpses ahead too. Oddly enough they are extremely detailed, accompanied by a sense of When. And it is the recognition of the When that causes a shock and pulls me back to the here and now, so only the things I observe and note before realizing the delta time are what come back with me. And the farthest I've detected is about 13 years hence. Something about getting rid of a car is what was going on before returning -- wife was pissed about it. Situation appeared normal to me.

The thing about flash forwards is that as we get older, they are less and less frequent. This has something to do with brain chemistry changing methinks, as I ahve no scientific explanation for the effect nor the change of frequency. But I have glimpsed past 2012 and noticed nothing different around 23~24. If the change of frequency is what you base that on, note that others flash forward less frequently with age as well. So don't jump to the conclusion that you aren't there.

In that case, I'll add my two cents that there are at least a thousand years between now and the end of everything, whether you're a premillenialist, postmillenialist or amillenialist, the end cannot come without what has been promised: a thousand year reign by the Prince of Peace. Besides which, there are plenty of other things which must happen on either side of that reign that will take time to happen. Essentially, even if the world begins to end tomorrow, we have a long time to go before the Last Judgement.

It won't be an end, it will be a change. That's why you can't see past it, it is a time when fate fails those with vision.

The theories that Armageddon will be on the 21st of December 2012 are based on false premises to begin with. The Mayan calendar does hold some significance on that date, but it is not the end of their calendar. They have a circular calendar, which means it actually never ends. It just enters a new cycle on that day. But the end of the world, that's just people making stuff up, as usual.

But you know, the whole new cycle thing might just be a thing that blocks your senses for the time after. There is one thing I do know though. On the 22nd of December 2012 I will have an amazing 30th birthday, and the theme of my party will most definitely be "I survived the end of the world".

Now that sounds like a great party. I'd love to attend, were I not a complete and total stranger to you.

The only reason 2012 is seen as the "end of the world" is because in the myan mythology, the world before this one ended at the end of it's 13th baktun. The new existence they started after it was the one they "got right" and decided was worthy to put humans on. So nothing should happen, since we're in the final version. If you believe their mythos.

I'm only going with it as far as that the Myans used these long-count events as excuses for massive celebrations. :3

Maybe you can feel things beyond then, but your mind's blocking them because it's got a long hangover in it?

Bah LJ ate my initial response and 'm too tired to retype it. basically, people have predicted the end of days numerous times before. They were wrong. This Mayan calendar thing, as others have noted, is less an end and more of a...phase shift.

It's easier to note the frequent upheavals, natural disasters etc now than it was in the past thanks to our 24/7 plugged in society. It's not that there are more of them, it's just that we hear about them almost instantaneously and in greater detail than ever before.

When the end does come, it will be, in my estimation, strictly at the hands of humanity. And what remains of the planet, assuming it wasn't blown to rubble, will chug merrily along without us, maybe giving some other critter a chance to hold the reins for a while. (I'm voting for lemurs.)

If we get another 2,000 years I'd be OK with that. If the world ends tomorrow, I'd be OK with that. Every day is a new adventure!

What my money in on is magic will return to the earth, someone will invent cybernetic body parts and we'll all have to live in the world of Shadowrun, Chummers.
