Another human first contact gone awry.
He's not dead, just unconscious, and the pointed item is a scanner and not a torture or vivisection device.
The anthros don't want to hurt him, just understand his physiology. It seems he was knocked out when his ship landed and the anthros have seen nothing like him, and want to help him.
