I'm of a mind to let my characters fade away on NCD and GG.

Don't get me wrong, no one has done anything to me, or has said anything to me about anything. It's just I'm not inspired to do anything on either of the two boards. :=/

There is one thing I want to do, a how to on how I did animations of the Lion's Den, but I can't do it the way I want. :={
I want to do it using the LD's log in, but I can't for fear that some may see it as a way for me to drive up that log in's post count so it could be carded. That wouldn't be the case. It has to deal with the Lion's Den, so I feel that log in should be used. But to avoid any type of confrontation, between any parties, I won't do it.

I'm still looking forward to Rhan's rendition of Altaica, and if anyone else wants to do anything for my four they have my blessings, though they will have to PM or e-mail me to let me know it has been done.

And as they say in the movies, "Fade to black. That's a wrap. Print it."

It's sad to think that you'll be going....but at least it's your choice. I'd feel even worse if you felt driven off.

And do NOT worry about what people may think about the LD login. That's how it would fit, and that's how you should post it.

LK, don't worry about post counts. If you post a tutorial about the animation for the Lion's Den, the that's an appropriate login to use. It's not going to make me or the other admins think you're trying to raise your post count.

Karol,

I know you and the other admins would se those posts for what they were.

I'm more worried about what some of the other PG's may think.

What I don't want to happen is for one, or more, PG's to take the attitude that I'm just driving up the post counts to get the Lion's Den carded, and another, or more, PG take the stance that I'm not.

There is enough problems with PG's being on opposite sides of things to the point where they are ready to tear each other's throats out, that I don't want to possibly add another reason.

By me not posting the how to, using any log in, it also reduces the bandwith that the NCD is using, and has been noted it is already at a "crisis" point.

Again, I must point out, nobody has said anything to me about posting or not posting. This is solely my own decision.

I think you're missing something here.

The point of a message board is to have people post to it!

YOU GET TO POSTING!!

In all seriousness, LK, do NOT base this on the possibility of offending others. If someone seriously thinks you're trying to raise your post count when you're providing good content for those who are interested, then they have many issues to deal with. You should post it because it's good and provides a nice "inside scope" of how you did it.

"Squeekie DOOK!" Salen tackles the Lionking. "Hiyas. First off, Rhan's sorry about not getting the picture done sooner. A bit of melancholy swept over his creative processes. I'm working on getting him coloring again. But... now onto other stuff."

"First off, who cares about post counts?!? No me. Lets see, between Me, and Rhan's two other forums he hangs out on that aren't on the NICE, Rhan's racked up some serious post counts. Really, He's got 3k on EZboard, and another 1k on one he helps moderate, and you know what, it doesn't matter. Rhan posts because he wants to post. Not because of post counts. And you shouldn't be concerned about post counts either. If someone else wants to worry about it, let them. Some people have WAY too much time on their paws, and have to find something to be petty about."

"Now, you be a good lion, and post up nifty new animations with whatever login you want. :) Really. I won't care. To be truthful, Rhan'lav would KILL to be able to do 3-D stuff, but he's not got the software or the time to learn YET ANOTHER thing to add to his excessive list of artistic talents. So... you... fuzzy... Get posting and no talking about quitting, or I'll steal the dilithium distributor cap in the Lion's Den, so it can never leave the Dreaming. MUHAWHAHAHAHAH!"

"Oh, and in case you didn't know, Rhan'lav told me that I should say a 'dilithium distributor cap', because I would just steal the shiny stuff out of the Den, but Rhan said it wouldn't work quite as well if I did that. ;) Dook!"

"Oh, one last point... If your not inspired right now, why not take a break from things? Really. Other than keeping me happily entertained with shinies on the GG and NCD boards, Rhan's really been trying to cut back on stress and stuff to help get his inspiriation going. Maybe you just need a small break. Why not do that? Please? *Insert Innocent and overly Cute Ferret smile here*"

"Ok, I've chattered yer ear off enough now. Dook! Take care!" Salen runs off.

Ye could just say "I'm not planning to use this login any more, don't bother carding it" when you post that...

Seriously, nobody's going to be dumb enough to think that. If they are, then just tell them they're wrong and leave it. That's my advice.

Problem with saying that, Ice, is that I was going to use the Lion's Den log in for other stuff in RP.

If it had gotten carded, well fine and great, but I didn't/don't want people to think that I was trying to drive up the post count artifically.

Of course it is a moot point any way. :=/

"Grand Master fade to zero. Close curtain. That's a show, folks."

Missed? A little bit, but then... you're still with us in more than one way. I'll certainly miss seeing you around Chat.

I'd recommend just going ahead and posting it. I honestly can't think of anybody who would see a posted tutorial as somebody trying to rack up posts for their post count. >_> If they do, then they're right, they've got bigger problems.

May your path be light.

Stay Safe, Don M.

Don,

I seriously doubt that anyone will consider any posting that you do to be an act of post spamming. I think what matters is that you have something creative and interesting in mind, and I for one would like to see it. For any who get themselves into a wad about posts racking up, all I have to say to them is: "Fie on them", so there.

Now post thee forth Don, post thee forth.

I agree that anyone who seriously worries about post counts as a requirement for getting a card needs to get his head shrunk, post counts are really not all that important, what is more important is the content of the posts. I think that a tutorial on how you animated the LD would be really cool, even if I don't have the bandwidth to see it. Heck look at my post count, between the two acatars I have I have a whopping 524. They aren't important at all, post what you want to
