My two brothers are what you would call traditional pen and paper artists.

Karl is an artist. He went to the Art Institute of Philly and is a graphic designer by trade. His worst work is better than my best traditional stuff.

Bob did not follow Karl's footsteps, but Bob could, and possibly still can, draw hands that were so life-like you'd swear that they were ready to come off the paper and grab you. Bob followed other pursuits which lead him to getting his captain's papers for large fishing vessels, though he is not in that line of work.

I could, on occasion, do some traditional work, but with pen and paper I'm a draftsman. Give me a scale, straight edge and compass and I'll draw what you want. The advent of CADD was a God send, as I didn't have to lug around a briefcase full of templates and other drafting equipment.

Now I have Poser, DAZ Studio, Bryce, et. al. for 3D work and this happens to be my niche. The technology wasn't around when I was in school. Heck the personal computer didn't really show up until I was 4 years out of high school. If CGI, other than 8 bit video games, existed it was in the armed forces, NASA and some of the polytechnic universities.

In other words I had to wait for the technology to catch up with me so I could flex my artistic muscles. As more advanced computers come out I find I am doing more and better stuff, without waiting all day, or possibly days, for things to render out.

Do I wish for a render farm that could make ILM envious? Are you kidding; of course!

So bear with me as I hone my talents. :=3
