While laying in bed some thoughts about states names occurred to me.

There is one letter that does not appear anywhere in a state's name: Q .

There are 2 letters that only appear once in the names of states:
X - New Mexico
Z - Arizona

EDIT: I forgot one letter that only appears once:
J - New Jersey.
