Thoughts on knowledge

On that forum I talked about earlier I got this reply:
.... I didn't say you were wrong, just that from my point of view, your facts weren't important to me, and I was in a position to ignore their effect on the world -- because they have little to no effect on me. ....
Well, I wonder if people are so unsure of themselves that any fact, no matter how trivial, is unimportant and threatening to them. Me? I take in knowledge in like an all you can eat steamed clam bar. :=3
I can't get enough of it.
You see I feel knowledge is like a fresh water spring on a hike. I may not be thirsty now, but I better fill that canteen up, as I might need it later.
So while a piece of trivia may not have any importance to me at that particular moment, I still put it my head, so if I need it I have it.
And like water in a canteen, if I come across fresher information I dump the old stuff out and put the new in.
This is how I know the stuff I do: I thrive on new knowledge.
And in closing I'd like to say, while the Tree of Knowledge's fruit was forbidden in the Garden of Eden, you are free to pick the fruit of the tree of knowledge I offer, for I offer it freely.
