Today I just learned of two more deaths. One was totally unexpected, and the other not quite so.
The first one was an acquaintance from a community theater group I used to belong to. He ran a stop sign, not too far from where I live, and he was broadsided. He and his girlfriend were both killed in the accident.
The other was a next door neighbor to me when I was growing up. She lost her husband about a year ago. Apparently she had leukemia for several years. She went in the hospital a couple of weeks back and they found the cancer had spread and she had some large tumors. They brought here home last Sunday and she died on Tuesday. ;={
We called those neighbors "Uncle Carl" and "Aunt Jane". They were not related to us, but through a quirk my parents had found out they almost were.
