Considering the weight of the halberd, shouldn't his hand be farther up the shaft? I would think that holding it so close to the butt would make it top heavy and inclined to fall forward (and end up tripping the warrior)

You are probably right. :=/

Though he is a muscular tiger, so he may not have an issue holding it like that.

Of course if it falls forward at the right, or wrong, time, depending who you are, it might do a bit of work for the tiger, as it falls on the intruders. :=3
