Maggie update :=3

Last night I took Maggie to the vet for a check up on how she was doing. The vet said he would be happy if she had a hemocrit level of between 29-32. If she had a level in that range he said she would not need to come in again for another check. I confidently stated that she'll hit that mark, no problem. I had been checking her gums and they look normal, plus I was giving her two "Liver Snax" with her morning feeding. They are pieces of beef liver, a human could eat them with no ill effects, and I figured that if doctors tell people to eat liver to build up their iron count then it should work for pussy cats. Maggie is so laid back when they put her on the scale she just stood there like it was no big deal. They also told me that she doesn't even flinch when they draw blood. She is one laid back cat, as anyone who met her can attest. :=3

After waiting for the machine to work its magic on counting red blood cells the vet came out beaming. Her count was not between 29 - 32, it was 35! :=3

So Maggie is fully back to her old self and no more check ups for her, other than her annual exam. She had also gained a pound, so she's back to 11.5 pounds.

They say the oldest pussy cat on record was 34 years old. I keep saying if there ever was a pussy cat that would surpass that mark without even trying, it would be Maggie. She just doesn't care. :=3
