Like I don't have enough to worry about
Mar. 16th, 2015 03:39 pmI just went out to check to see if I got any main and I noticed that someone had struck my mailbox and trashed it, taking it totally off the post. :={
Now I have to see if there is any way I can get it usable until I can get a new mail box.
The one I have is a larger one so packages can be put inside it .
It is bad enough that you hit and damaged my mailbox, but at least tell me about it.

Date: 2015-03-17 08:35 pm (UTC)Just wondering if there any way you can tell if this was an accident or wanton vandalism? My grandparents had an ornate, wooden mailbox that stood in front of their house for decades (I suspect in the vicinity of 40-50 years). Unhappily neighbourhoods can change as time goes by and this once tranquil suburb of rural New South Wales fell prey to riff-raff. The mailbox was vandalised and had to be replaced with a more durable one made of steel, that was much less attractive.

Date: 2015-03-17 11:17 pm (UTC)One of two things happened:
1. A tree service vehicle hit it with their bucket and they may have not even noticed they had hit it.
2. The mail carrier hit it with her mirror, the damage to the door is about the same height as the mirror on the postal jeeps, and she just didn't care.
I'm leaning towards the second of the two, as the mail box is set back far enough that the tree service truck would've had to been pretty much on the shoulder to hit it.
