Apr. 29th, 2004 09:36 amIn your reply you can ask me any three questions. I will not ask that you put this same question and answer session in your LJ, as I feel that is a personal preference.
All I do ask is that you try to keep the question to a PG-13 level. I will answer questions to the best of my ability and I will be honest.

Date: 2004-04-30 11:34 am (UTC)This is the hardest of the three, as I don't know.
How long have you interested in trains?
Well, my mom said I was born with a model train in one hand and a throttle controller in the other. :=3
Of all locomotives, what's your favorite?
Steam: Tossup between the Pennsy's K-4s and the SP's GS-4. The former because of its ubiquitousness and the latter because of its styling.
Electric: Can only be one, Pennsy's GG-1. :=3
Diesel: The ALCO PA-1(2). The styling, brute force appearance, and at certain angles, to me anyway, it has a leonine cab/nose profile. ;=3
Also EMD's GP30 has a certain appeal due to its styling.
Overall: The PA-1(2) with the others right on its tail. ;=3
For those that don't know, the only difference between the PA-1 and the PA-2 was horsepower. The PA-1 was 2000hp and the PA-2 was 2250hp.

Date: 2004-04-30 11:40 am (UTC)I wish. :=/ Right now I'm sharing house with my silly pussycat, Maggie. :=3
BTW, she does "yell" at me when I come home late and wakes me when she wants to be fed. ;=3
1a.) If yes to any of the above, any kids?
No.
2.) What's your favorite pasttime, other than trains, lions, and SJ?
There are other things? :=3 Actually; anything techinically related, writing, reading, doing CADD/drafting, sketching (or trying to), cooking, eating. It really depends on my mood, with the CADD/drafting being close to the top most of the time. :=3
3.) How many fingers am I holding up?
2.5 :=3

Date: 2004-04-30 03:08 pm (UTC)I think the question should be, "Why did Lion take an interest in me?" Lion, my spirit guide, or totem for those that know North American Indian lore, first came to me when I was about 8 years old. He just appeared one day when I was soaking up the sun's warmth while waiting for school to start. I closed my eyes and he was there. He wasn't threatening or anything, he just showed up. After that lions came and went in my life, but they were always in the background. When I was in high school Lion started to really make himself known. He wsa more and more approaching me. It wasn't until Feb of 2000, that I realized what this "obsession" with lions was about. It was Lion trying to tell me that he was there waiting for me to acknowledge him, which I have.
2) What's the greatest thing about driving a train? Why?
That I'm doing something I've always wanted to do. Since I could vocalize what I wanted to be, according my parents it was "drive a choo-choo" or words to that effect. :=3
3) Which do you prefer: Computer games, console games, or board/card games? Why?
Board/card games. They give the chance to interact with others, as you are playing, as there are lulls in the play. Computer games, with their ability to connect via modem, can lead to increased friendships, as you can play anyone, anywhere, but the chance of interacting is rare, and very rarely by voice. Console game have the person next to you, but you end up being so involved with the game interaction is hard, if, sometimes, impossible, during the game. Also, if I have people over I don't want anyone gathered around a CRT. The art of conversation is rare and playing a card/board game make it possible to have interesting conversations.

Hallan
Well, just this once. ;=3
Date: 2004-04-30 05:10 pm (UTC)Well, almost any of them that require "thinking" or strategy", though I do like the ones that rely on the deal of the cards.
Board Games: Monopoly, Sorry, Clue, Risk (do you sense a Parker Bros./Hasbro theme here? :=3 ), some of the old Avalon Hill Games; Panzer Leader, B&O/C&O, Rail Baron. These are to name a few. I also include some of the "Cheap Assed Games" stuff and RPG's like Ironclaw/Jadeclaw in the board game category.
Card Games: Well, of course, my Air Traffic has got to be first. :=3 Then comes Fluxx, most of the standard card games (though I never learned how to play Bridge or Cribbage), Pinochle, Waterworks, etc.
In other words I'm game (no pun intended) for almost any type of card/board game if it looks interesting and is fun to play.
