what someone is thinking.

As an example:

My ex-boss, from the two way radio place, was not exactly "fur friendly" when I first found the fur community. He tolerated me, but I was warned not to talk too much about furs while he was around. I can appreciate that, as, I have pointed out to some people, he is so conservative that he makes Rush Limbaugh look like a liberal. :=/

I don't hold that against him, as he is one heck of a nice guy who will give you the shirt off his back he thinks you deserve it.

He has also looked after, and will do so again, my cat when I'm away. He also has offered me my old job back starting in Feb., when the current tech retires.

Well, a couple of years ago he had gone into the Adam's Mark for brunch when AnthroCon was going on. He told me he thought it was neat and was amazed at the diversity and the friendliness of those attending. In fact he kept asking me when the next AC was so he could fur watch. ;=3

He sees no harm in furs and sees it as good clean fun.

Fast forward to today. I called him and asked if he would watch Maggie for me while I'm in Sacramento to attend a wedding. He said sure and then he asked me a couple of questions that caught me off guard; what species were the bride and groom! 8=0

I told him and he laughed and said it was a good thing that two of the same species were getting married. This was totally surprising. I had mentioned that two of my friends were getting married and I might have mentioned that they were furs. Him asking those questions was a big shock to me.

I then asked if he had heard about the Adam's Mark closing. He said no, and I explained the details. He then asked if I knew if the Wyndam Franklin had a brunch schedule. I told him I didn't know, but I suspect he will check it out and I'll be asked when AC will be held next year. :=3

Will he ever buy a one day membership and actually see what goes on at a fur con? I don't think so, but he might. He's going to be disappointed when AC moves to Pittsburgh.

So, it goes to show that people's perceptions and attitudes change, sometimes for the better.

Amazing how some people change once you get to know them better.

I'll be in Sacramento from 12/26 to 12/30. Really no time to do anything other than go to the Calif. Railroad Museum. :=3

As for FC, my tickets are non-changeable and I do have to get back to the RR.

Believe me, if there was a way to stretch my stay for a 3 week period I'd do it. I'm sure my aunt and uncle, in the San Jose area, would put me up, but, alas, it is not to be.
