Yes. I'm still here. :=3
Feb. 9th, 2005 08:48 amI've been busy. No, not working on the RR, but I have to head down there in a bit (yes, I got a phone call).
What I've been working on is a 3D of the Surban Jungle's, by the multi-talented, very patient and all around nice guy
the_gneech, bar, the Watering Hole
This is not just a slapdashed togerher rendition. Oh, no. Those that really know me know I'd take it to the nth degree. I used AutoCAD 2000 to lay out the bar and details to scale.
Like so...

I'm only about half done or so. ;=3
In that pic nothing readily available was used. Everything was created from scratch.
What is not apparent is that the ceiling joists are to scale and are spaced properly. Also there is, not visible, the strong backs tyo tie the joists together and a I-beam, of the proper size and dimensiions, acting as a girder running down the center of the ceiling.
Also not visible, partitions in the bathrooms, along with sinks and mirrors (toilets will come later), hinge barrels on the doors., proper framing around the doors, to scale base molding, supports for the overhead cabinet (you can see one), supports for the flourscent lighting that is illumating the bar area.
A note about those light fixtures.. Each one has seperate tubes and removable diffusers, which are scale in thickness. The lights in Bryce were put in line with the tubes, so it looks like the tubes are actually lit. ;=3
The windows have proper framing, and concrete sills. The second floor walls are set back so the 2nd floor joists are sitting on a proper ledge.
Left to do:
detail exterior (possibly do the streets to scale width and put generic buildings on either side)
but the rest of the elcetrical fixtures in, including switches and outlets
run conduit to the above, if visible (i.e. in the ceiling or along walls)
detail all the bar equipment
detail office area
add tables and chairs
add booths
put curtain rods in
put Leonard, Tiffany, etc, in (done with Poser)
put other detail elements in
when finally imported to Bryce put other detail elements in (I use to scale placeholders so I know where they go)
touch up walls a bit
put HVAC system in
finish exterior door details
re-do hanging glass rack
and anything else I can think of.
EDIT: The Gneech just told me the stool tops should be green. That will be fixed in the next render. ;=3
So what do you think?
Can I buy you a drink? :=3
