Non 3D art update
Mar. 4th, 2005 08:07 amWell here goes.
I got a few days in at G&G, the 2 way radio place. It was fun watching the double takes from people who knew me from the last time. It has been over 4 years since I'd been to some of those places. ;=3
One thing is for certain, doing installs is like riding a bike, you really never forget how, but I wish I had my van back. I had everything, plus some, I needed to do an install. Operating out of the back of the Elantra is not fun. ;=/
I was in the Wawa I used to work at, last Friday, and the manager, who I never worked for, saw me. Out of the blue he asked me, "How long did you work here?" He knew that I had been employed there, it was no secret.
I answered, "Umm. About 6 months on and off. I worked when the railroad was shut down. Why? You need help?"
His reply, "Yes. Two nights a week on graveyard. You interested?"
"Yes, I guess so."
"Good. Come back and talk to me."
Well, I went back on Monday and he said he could use me on any two nights I wanted, pumping gas again. I said any two nights would be fine, other than Monday and Wendesday nights, as I'd be working for G&G Tuesdays and Thursdays. He asked me about Fridays and Saturdays. I said ok, but there was a wrinkle, in that I'm headed to Florida from the 9th to the 15th and it had been planned for months. He said it was no problem as he'd start me on the 18th.
So, for the time being anyway, I'm back at Wawa.
As for Florida and MegaPlex, that remains up in the air. I was expecting my NJ Tax refund to come today, actually to be direct deposited. I check my account on-line this morning and it hasn't shown up, i.e. no increase in available funds. Damn.
I call NJ's "Where's my refund?" line and enter the required info. Turns out my refund was deposited into my account, back on Feb. 22nd, a week after I tele-filed my return, not the two weeks, and certainly not on a Friday, like I've been expecting. :=/
I went back into my account's history and sure enough it was there, deposited on 2/22/05.
So, the money I was expecting that way has been spent, unkowningly by me, on food and other essentials.
That leaves me getting a paycheck from G&G, a mileage check from them for using my car, a possible check from Tony, some of which has got to pay my electric bill, for travelling, hotel and other expenses.
Given the funds in my bank account, and those sources of income, it looks like MegaPlex, and visiting my folks, may not happen for me. :={
I will know by Tuesday if it's a go. It has to be Tuesday at the latest, as I plan to leave very early on Wendesday morning, so I can get a day of visiting in with my brother in Georgia.

Date: 2005-03-06 02:03 am (UTC)If you don't make it I have got to let Tony Ringtail know so he can hold the room for Sunday Night too. Otherwise _I_ have nowhere to sleep as he has room share plans already if he needs them.
We will each have to budget the extra room costs too.
*SIGH* I hope you can make it!
