So it seems that this all has been a big "practical joke" by postvixen. :={

It is noted, however, that "creator and owner" of LJDrama does say:

"But part of your wild rumor mongering contains SOME truth. I am the CREATOR AND OWNER of LJDRAMA and I am CURRENT ROOMATES with the creator of the INFAMOUS LJ CRUSH MEME. We sit around ALL DAY thinking up NEW WAYS TO BE MEAN TO LJ FURRIES."

So, unfortunately, I have also been drawn into someone's twisted idea of humor, although unwittingly. ;={

The basic premise still rings true though: "Never give your sensitive information to anyone you don't know or trust."

The LJ Drama people are in direct cahoots with FriendDitto, and it was done specifically for the purpose of humiliating people, exposing them to ridicule and generally pissing them off. Postvixen trolled the trolls and made them squeal like stuck pigs. Hah! More power to her, I say. And quite frankly, anyone who "archives" one of your PRIVATE/FRIEND'S ONLY posts on FriendDitto should have some part of their vital anatomy removed with a wooden spoon.

Granted LJDrama and FrienDitto are related, and I have no love lost for the LJDrama people, PostVixen started something that got a lot of innocent people caught up in her web of deceit, including myself. Also a lot of, from what I understand people deleted their LJ's because they felt they thought their LJ's had been compromised, and who knows how many friendships were mistakenly ruined because of this "prank".

Her actions were, in my opinion, tantamount to crying "Fire" in a XXX movie theater. While I might wish that such places don't exist, I see no reason to make innocent people panic when there is no danger.

Now, what FrienDitto does, or does not do with passwords, or other information I have no idea, the fact that someone, i.e. PostVixen, willfully lied to get attention and to cause a general panic makes me angry.

There is enough to worry about in this world and someone causing a panic as a prank is, to me, no laughing matter.

As I stated in my first post on this subject, I do very few Friends Only posts as not to worry, but I do agree with your sentiment. Friends Only means Friends Only. If you want to archive a post, do it locally on your own HD.

Yeah, I'm not getting why folks are upset with postvixen either. For all the criticism we get that we "can't take a joke," it's really disappointing to see people reacting to this prank by getting up in arms about it and showing people that indeed, we can't take a joke. -:(

As in my reply to Ion, Xydexx, there is a difference between a "joke" and a "scam" that affects a lot of innocent people.

To put in a railroading analogy, she oulled the "Emergency Conductor's Brake" on a train, made a lot of noise about a dangerous situation on the train, but when everyone was evacuated she jumped on the roof of the train and said: "Ha ha! I don't like trains and I was only fooling. You are a bunch of losers for believing me."

Someone who does that deserves to have people get angry at them.

It is only a joke when people see it as a joke. Many people, including myself, don't see this a joke, but a way for PostVixen to call attention to herself and make herself seem important.
