For my mother and father.
May. 6th, 2005 08:33 amOn Sunday it will be Mother's Day here in the U.S.
Before I get busy I want to say, "Thank you" to my mom, and dad.
As
smrgol_t_kirin knows, they are wonderful people who have supported me in most everything I do, or have done. All they want is for me to succeed in my chosen endeavors and to be happy. :=3
A few years ago I had recorded the following song, usingGordon Roger Whittaker's version as "back up".
So for my parents, who I know won't be reading this;
Mom, dad, you are definitely, most definitely, the
Wind Beneath My Wings
Bette Midler
- by Larry Henley and Jeff Silbar
- from Beaches
Ohhhh, oh, oh, oh, ohhh.
It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way.
You always walked a step behind.
So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strain.
A beautiful face without a name for so long.
A beautiful smile to hide the pain.
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.
It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it.
I would be nothing without you.
Did you ever know that you're my hero?
You're everything I wish I could be.
I could fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.
Did I ever tell you you're my hero?
You're everything, everything I wish I could be.
Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.
Oh, the wind beneath my wings.
You, you, you, you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly away. You let me fly so high.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly high against the sky,
so high I almost touch the sky.
Thank you, thank you,
thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings.

Date: 2005-05-07 12:44 am (UTC)I got Gordon Sinclair and Roger Whittaker together somehow. :=/
Gordon Sinclair is/was another Canadien, that did A Canadien's Point of View, back in the mid/late '70's, IIRC.

Date: 2005-05-07 01:14 am (UTC)For whatever reason I thought Roger Whittaker was from Canada, possibly from Vancouver.
I knew there was a reason I like RW. He's from lion country. :=3

Date: 2005-05-07 01:48 am (UTC)There was a two-record set called "All My Best", and it had recordings that have never been put on any other albums. I'd love to obtain CDs of those two records!
