A discliamer
Jul. 21st, 2005 04:16 pmI feel it might be wise to put this "disclaimer" up.
Please note that first, and foremost, all of the Suburban Jungle characters and objects are Copyright 1999-2005 by John "the Gneech" Robey, and I have his permission to do my interpertations of them.
Also, please note that my 3D versions of the cast and/or buildings will not be exact 3D models of his drawings.
There are a few reasons for this:
1. He is a cartoonist working in 2D, and I'm working with 3D models. He can do things I cannot.
2. I am working with pre-made figures. I'm no Little Dragon or Lemurtek, so I cannot create new figures, for Poser, from scratch.
3. While the Gneech is using a more "toony" style for the cast, I prefer the more realistic, as they fit better with any 3D creations I do of buildings (like The Watering Hole) or props I may use. I also just plain like the more realistic anthro style.
4. Any buildings, or anything else for that matter, are, or will be, done to exact scale. The Gneech can scrunch things up and still have them look right. He can also employ "Tardis" techonolgy, in that things are bigger on the inside than the outside. I cannot do that. He can also change the arrangement of furniture around on whim, but once I place something in a building, it is pretty much locked into place.
So with the above in mind, please understand that while I am aiming for a 3D whatever, it will, most likely, not look exactly like what the Gneech has drawn, unless he has given me scale plans to go by.
