Update cont.
Aug. 16th, 2006 01:12 pmOK, I'm back. :=3
As I was saying, it will be interesting to own a house. We will be able to do things to the house and grounds without worrying about a landlord. With the big yard it will be possible to hold parties without wondering if the landlord will say anything. The side yard is partly fenced in, so there shouldn't be any problems with the neighbors. Also the pool will make for easy living in the coming summers. :=3
The larger house will also allow more people to sleep over without them all trying to cram in my living room. :=/
Also, with the house and ex-chicken coop storage will not be a problem, and I can finally build a decent sized layout for my trains.
Yes, we both know that owning house comes with responsibilities. I will no longer have a landlord to tell if something is broken, though I ended up doing most of the repairs anyway. Also having a second building adds more maintenance issues, but we know this.
The yard is larger, so I will need to get a garden tractor so I can mow the 3/4 acre of cleared land in something less than 8 hours it would take with a push mower. 8=0
Also, not to tell too big of a secret, today is Teri's whelpday. :=3
Oh, she's going to kill me. :=3

Date: 2006-08-17 12:30 am (UTC)You are so right, we will have to pace ourselves. There are so many things we want to do with the house and the property, but are well aware that it will all take time. The nicest part is planning it together . . . that and the fact that we seem to see eye to eye on a lot of things.
Yes, the end of the long dark tunnel is near for both of us and we couldn't be happier.

Date: 2006-08-17 05:00 am (UTC)Yeah, but that is probably a good thing...
kamau is very right about home ownership.
you do need to pace yourself, and learn to separate genuine household emergencies from 'wanna dos'. Budget them separately.
And always give yourself plenty of rumination time when considering 'optional projects'.
