For those that are interested I updated the South Jersey & Western's web site.

Now included is FAQ page, a updated history page, plus a listing of the routes the SJ&W served. Please note that all, except 2 (Mall Branch and Atlantic City Airport Branch (which is not detailed), routes do exist, or have existed at one time or another. Just wait until I get to the New York City/North Jersey page. ;=3

With a site like this, it is no wonder people think it is a real railroad. :=3

I am in the process of setting up the Carlisle, PA station for Train Dispatcher 3. The station is based off of the center tracks of New York Penn Station between A and JO towers. Also included is the Empire Line, which is the connection to Harrisburg. The Empire Line was "built" using actual track diagrams with distance between signals. The station was "built" using actual track diagrams, but no distances were included, so the distances are probably not accurate, as are the signal locations in some cases.
Other than the platform tracks, the yard and lead tracks, plus main on Empire Line, use actual track designations

I need to poke you about train specifications, more likely what size the undercarrage (or trucks) are used on passenger cars... and how tall and thick the rails actually are. I'm making a ViewLiner sleeper spoof in Second Life, and I want it reasonably accurate.

The wheels are nominally 36" in dia. The rails vary by weight:" i.e. lbs per yard. If you went with a 6" rail height you would be reasonably accurate, as that is an actual rail height, though I don't remember off paw what pound rail it is.

If you don't mind spending a little cash, stop by a hobby shop and buy a Con-Cor, or Walther's Superliner and a piece of Code 85 track. You'll need as micrometer for the track. I'll buy the passenger car from you if you don't want to keep it.

Okay. Should be interesting to model. I take it the two models and the track are near-exact in terms of scale?

They are exact scale. ;=3

By the way the scale ratio is 87.1:1. If you figure that 1 actual inch equals 7'-3" in H-O scale (87:1) the difference is so slight as not to worry about it.

If you can see your way up to South Jersey I have plenty of models and track. ;=3

Maybe on the way to FurAffinity: United, which is slated to be back at the Newark International Airport Hotel again in 2009.

Damn... now I'm wondering how thick these walls are. I have 'em for 63 mm now, and I think they may be thinner...

The walls are about 3" thick in real life.

Okay, the SL version is actually thinner (as I'm keeping myself within binary fractions of a meter). I may have to make the bed more of a platform that slides down, though. We'll see. It's looking interesting.
